Pattern and Presentation of Pediatric Spoke Wheel Entrapment Injuries: Our Hospital Experience

Objective: Finding out how often and severely kids get their feet caught in the spokes of motorcycle wheels, what it means for treatment options. Study design: A cross-sectional study Place Duration: This was conducted Ibn-e-Sina University, Muhammad Medical College Hospital Mirpurkhas from February 2022 to 2023. Methodology: The included children who had sustained motorbike spoke wheel injuries after getting entrapped it. were assessed severity injury as well location injury. classification done according Tscherne Oestern graded 0, I, II, III. Complete history patients taken followed by a physical examination. After that, relevant investigations ordered such radiographs laboratory investigations. Results: total number participants present 115. mean age 8.62±7.23 years. There 85 (73.91%) male 30 (26.09%) female. 78 (67.83%) right injured 37 (32.17%) left injured. Injury grade 0 documented 17 (14.78%), I 33 (28.69%), II 42 (36.52%) patients, III 23 (20%) patients. most common area accident heel pad affected 63 (54.78%) Rupture tendon seen 11 (9.56%) Fracture bone 9 (7.82%) only 1 (0.86%) suffered neurovascular Conclusion: because Motorbike results different patterns causing multiple levels damage tissues even fractures.
